Leadville Celebrates Fourth of July


LEADVILLE, Colo. (June 20, 2013) — Leadville’s mountain-town hospitality will shine once again on July 4, when the town hosts its annual Independence Day celebration.
The Independence Day festivities will begin at 9 a.m. with the Firecracker 5K. Registration is available prior to the race at the Lake County Courthouse at 505 Harrison Ave.

At 10 a.m., the annual July Fourth Parade takes place on Harrison Ave., Leadville’s main thoroughfare.

The Lake County Regional Airport will celebrate with a free bar-be-cue and aircraft displays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fuel discounts are available for pilots who fly in to North America’s highest airport.

The Leadville/Lake County Fire Department will also host a free bar-be-cue at 816 Harrison Avenue immediately following the parade.

The evening will conclude with the Tony Hren Memorial Fireworks Display sponsored by the Leadville Lions Club at dusk.
