On November 5th, some District Accountability Committee members went on a tour to see the new construction at the High School. It was a chilly day, but it was fun to see how things are shaping up. The walls in the new art room, career and technical education room, and the beautiful library are framed up; the beams are up for the new wings; and the auditorium has new sound, lights, paint and no asbestos! Our 7th – 12th graders are going to have an excellent building to facilitate a 21st century education!
Chris Guarino from Consillium Partners explained that there are quite a few local residents working on site, and that there has been around $300,000 that has been spent in Leadville because of this project! If you are interested in seeing the progress for yourself, tours can be scheduled on Tuesdays. Please contact Julie Lundgren at Build a Generation, firstname.lastname@example.org or 719-293-5944 to set up a tour.
