The last Monday of every month Lake County Public Library offers basic computer help from 9am-10am before the library opens (unless the last Monday is a holiday, in which case it’s the second to last Monday). Whether it’s setting up an email, learning Microsoft Word, or a variety of other computer-use related topics, the library staff is happy to provide assistance. This “class” is not limited specifically to computers- e-readers, cameras, and other tech devices are welcome, too. We can help you learn to use a computer or a device, but we cannot fix computers or devices.
On another computer related note, Lake County Public Library subscribes to EBSCOhost, a handy research database that is no longer just for scholarly articles! For a list of what’s available click on over to the Lake County Public Library website, or stop by and ask the staff. There are several databases for students (which may come in handy when school starts), there is an auto repair database, a gardening database, a newspaper database, and much, much more! These databases are usable from home but require a username and password from the library which you can get either by stopping in or by calling the library at 719-486-0569.
